PAUSING
Find a quiet place where you can be alone. Take a few seconds or minutes to pause and be still; to breathe slowly, and to re-center any scattered thoughts or desires onto the presence of God.
PRAYING
Holy Spirit, breathe new life into me. Expand my heart and imagination. Stir up longing and desire for You. Draw me close to You that we may enjoy each other today.
ENCOUNTERING HIS WORD
“It is good to praise the Lord
and make music to your name, O Most High,
proclaiming your love in the morning
and your faithfulness at night,
For you make me glad by your deeds, Lord;
I sing for joy at what your hands have done.
How great are your works, Lord,
how profound your thoughts!” - Psalm 92:1-2;4-5
I admit that a lot of times I feel the weight of immense responsibility that comes with knowing God. I feel I have to be faithful - at least more faithful than I am now. I have to keep up a standard of excellence to an audience of One - never relenting. It gets exhausting, but I push through. I carry the burden and I say, "thank you sir, may I have one more?" I'm not sure what to think of this behavior. Is it faithfulness or works righteousness? The line can sometimes be blurred.
God tells us that there's a better way to live. He invites us to live free from the unhealthy pressures and expectations we put on ourselves, that are put on by others, and to instead enjoy the freedom of a loving Creator and Sustainer God. The Psalmist here proclaims Gods love, God's faithfulness. He is made glad by God's deeds and by what God's hands have done. Great are God's works! Profound are God's thoughts! The only thing the Psalmist is doing here is praising God, making music, and being happy. Could it really be that simple? It can be. If we focus on God, and not us.
REFLECTING AND PRAYING
We are a third of the way through 21 Days of Prayer. What are some victories that you’d like to celebrate and thank God for? Do you notice a change in your attitude? Have you become more sensitive to God’s moving around you? Are you more at peace? What is God revealing to you about prayer?
GODS PROMISE
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest - Matthew 11:28

- Pray with a spirit of rest, relaxing and leaning into the presence of God.
- God wants to restore His image in you. He also wants your imagination of Him to be restored. Spend time enjoying Him and enjoying how you believe He delights in you! (He really does!)
- Dream of the deep rooted relationship and intimacy you could have with God if the gravity for material things were lightened.
